Used as a structural material, carbon-fiber is nearly 10 times stronger than steel despite being equally elastic.

It has the fastest method of implementation known. Moreover, it is easy to apply and does not add any weight to the system.Laboratory tests show that it significantly improves transverse strains and longitudinal strains, which designers have noticed greatly contributes to the ductility of structures. It is also found to improve member bearing capacity by 30 percent.

METHODOLOGY

• Cleaning the application surface and removing moisture and humidity.The concrete surface should be cleared of grease, impurities, plaster and paint.The minimum tensile strength of the concrete surface should be 2 N/mm².

• Holes in the concrete surface should be filled with the appropriate materials.

• Exposed reinforcing bars on the concrete surface should be coated with appropriate materials to increase resistance to corrosion.

• Epoxy cement is applied on the prepared surface and the surface is saturated.

• Carbon-fiber is stretched to adhere to the surface.

• Another coat of adhesive is applied on the stretched layer of carbon-fiber.

• If necessary, sand is sprinkled and rubbed onto it.
