Steel Scaffolding Calculation Engineering and Project Design Services
MUTO Steel Construction has designed many scaffolding structures with its experienced staff and its philosophy to create safe, economical, aesthetic steel scaffolding that offers ease of operation.
Adopting a human-oriented approach, MUTO Steel Construction fulfills the demands and requests of end users at the design stage, and provides consultancy services at the implementation stage.
Vision:
Following the latest technology to ensure happiness and satisfaction without compromising on engineering quality and ethical values.
Mission:
Creating rational projects for the design and project efforts of any kind of steel scaffolding structure in Turkey and worldwide to contribute to the development of Turkey and its citizens.
METHODOLOGY:
1. Steel Scaffolding Static Project Design
Selection of an appropriate section by computer-assisted means based on the spacing and load conditions.
We use the following software for such sizing, manufacturing and installation works:
- ETABS
- SAP2000
- STRAP
- CFS
Static calculation and sizing works should be done as per the following standards:
AISI-ASD (American Iron and Steel Institute – Allowable Stress Design)
TS 498 (DESIGN VALUES OF LOADS IN SIZING STRUCTURAL MEMBERS)
TS 11372 (Steel Structures – Light Weight Steel Structures – Composed of Cold-Formed Steel Members – Design Rules)
CYTYK 2018 Design and Construction Rules for Steel Structures
TBDY 2018 Earthquake-Resistant Building Design Principles
UBC 97
TS EN 12810-2 Facade scaffolds made of prefabricated components - Part 2: Particular methods of structural design
TS EN 12811-1 Temporary work equipment - Part 1: Scaffolds - Performance requirements and general design
EN 39 - Loose-fit tubes
EN 74-1- Fasteners (couplers-spigots-pins)
EN 74-3- Fasteners (baseplates)
EN 10204-Metallic products - Types of inspection documents
TS EN 12810 – 1 / Facade scaffolds made of prefabricated components - Part 1: Product specifications
Part 2: Static project design stage for fasteners and baseplates:
Calculation based on the relevant regulations and specifications of the connections of the sections chosen as per project spacing and load conditions.

3. Selection of the plating to be used for the steel scaffold:
Plating (galvanization)
C1 Appropriate protective coating from EN ISO 12944 Part 1 to Part 8
C2 Hot-dip galvanization and similar methods
a) Main components (e.g. brackets, tubes and poles).
Coat thickness: ≥ 28μm (≅ 200g /m²)
b) Minor components (e.g. fasteners, bolts, nuts, washers, pins)
Average coating thickness: ≥ 15μm
Hot-dip galvanized coating as per C3 EN ISO 1461 T
Coating thickness: ≥ 50μm.
