Rolled Steel Engineering and Project Design Services

The MUTO Steel Construction Rolled (Heavy) Steel Structure Project Department was established in Istanbul in 2009 to design static projects for any rolled (heavy) steel structure in Turkey and abroad.

It has designed many rolled (heavy) steel structures for projects with its experienced staff and its philosophy to create safe, economical, aesthetic and habitable spaces since then.

Adopting a human-oriented approach, MUTO Steel Construction fulfills the demands and requests of end users at the design stage, and provides consultancy services at the implementation stage.

VISION:

Following the latest technology to ensure happiness and satisfaction without compromising on engineering quality and ethical values.

MISSION:

Creating rational projects for the design and project efforts of any kind of structural steel structure in Turkey and worldwide to contribute to the development of Turkey and its citizens.

METHODOLOGY:

1. Static Project Design for Rolled (Heavy) Steel:

Selection of an appropriate section by computer-assisted means based on the spacing and load conditions.

We use the following software for such sizing, manufacturing and installation works:

  • ETABS
  • SAP2000
  • STRAP
  • CFS

Static calculation and sizing works should be done as per the following standards:

  • Design and Construction Rules for Steel Structures
  • Earthquake-Resistant Building Design Principles
  • TS 3357 Building Code for the Design and Execution of Welded Connections in Steel Structures
  • TS 11372 Light Weight Steel Structures - Composed of Cold-Formed Steel Members - Design Rules
  • TS EN 1993-1-1 Eurocode 3: Design of Steel Structures - Part 1-1: General Rules and Rules for Buildings
  • TS EN 1993-1-1/AC
  • Eurocode 3: Design of Steel Structures - Part 1-1: General Rules and Rules for Buildings
  • TS EN 1993-1-2 Eurocode 3 – Design of steel structures - Part 1-2: General rules – Structural fire design
  • TS EN 1993-1-3
  • Eurocode 3: Design of Steel Structures - Part 1-3: General rules - Supplementary Rules for

Cold-Formed Members and Sheeting

  • TS EN 1993-1-4
  • Eurocode 3: Design of Steel Structures - Part 1-4: General Rules - Supplementary

Rules for Stainless Steel

  • TS EN 1993-1-5
  • Eurocode 3: Design of steel structures - Part 1-5: General rules - Supplementary rules for plated structural elements without lateral load impact
  • TS EN 1993-1-6
  • Eurocode 3: Design of steel structures - Part 1-6: General rules - Supplementary rules for shell structures
  • TS EN 1993-1-7
  • Eurocode 3: Design of steel structures - Part 1-7: General rules - Supplementary rules for planar plated structures subject to out-of-plane loading
  • TS 498 Calculated Values of the Loads Taken for Sizing Structural Members
  • AISI –LRFD (American Iron and Steel Institute – Load and Resistance Factor Design) Specification of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members
  • AISI S100-2007 North American Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members

2. Static Project Design of Rolled (Heavy) Steel Intersection (Node) Points:

Calculation based on the relevant regulations and specifications of the connections of the sections chosen as per project spacing and load conditions.

  • Calculation of Welds
  • Calculation of Bolts
  • Calculation of Column Bases
  • Additional Calculation of Members
  • Calculation of Beam-Beam Connection
  • Calculation of Column-Beam Connection

3. Preparation of the Manufacturing and Installation Sheets of Rolled (Heavy) Steel:

The stage of preparing the manufacturing and installation sheets of the structure with all sections and details resolved with zero-error guarantee.

4. Preparation of Rolled (heavy) Steel Material Lists:

The stage of listing in detail the amounts of all materials, bolts and paint to be used for a project. A bill of quantities of all materials used are prepared at this stage.
